Denmark is located approximately 400kms south of Perth along the Albany Highway. The Shire area is 1,842sq kms of which 70% is State Forest and National Park with the remainder made up of rural land, the townsite and several small population centres such as Nornalup, Peaceful Bay and Bow Bridge.

The population is approaching 5,000 and growing fast! To accommodate this growth Denmark has a thriving commercial centre that boasts a high school, an agricultural college, 2 primary schools, a police station, a hospital and an aged care hospice.

The average daily mean temperatures are maximum 21°C and minimum 11.5°C, with approximately 1,000mm of rainfall per annum.

The main industries are tourism, beef farming, intensive horticultural pursuits such as viticulture and mushroom farming, aquaculture and commercial fishing.
